Following the recent introduction of the Redmi Note 14 SE, Xiaomi has discreetly confirmed that the Redmi 15 will launch in India on August 19. The company shared a teaser via its official X handle, formerly known as Twitter.
The Redmi 15 will reportedly shake up the budget segment quite dramatically with a massive 7,000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery for starters. The advanced battery tech maintains up to 80% of its original capacity after four years, which aligns conveniently with the typical smartphone replacement cycles of most users.
Xiaomi says battery life can stretch to 23.5 hours while playing YouTube videos nonstop on a single charge but hasn’t specified the streaming mode. The phone survives remarkably over thirteen hours in hibernation mode even when the battery level plummets to a paltry 1%.
The device is expected to support 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging functionality simultaneously, with quite impressive specs overall.
Under the hood, the Redmi 15 will house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 octa-core chipset and operate on Android 15 with HyperOS 2. It will flaunt a whopping 6.9-inch Full HD+ screen boasting Eye Safe certification and a remarkably smooth 144Hz refresh rate, reducing eye fatigue.
The handset will sport a dual 50MP AI rear camera setup with an LED flash and an 8MP front camera, obviously for taking selfies. The Redmi 15 will offer IP64-certified protection, making it resistant to dust and splashes, and will be available in three stylish color variants: Frosted White, Midnight Black, and Sandy Purple.
