India Yamaha Motor has launched the 2025 edition of the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 in the country recently with quite a lot of fanfare. The streetfighter’s base variant now costs ₹1.69 lakh ex-showroom, and the top-end model is priced rather steeply at ₹1.80 lakh ex-showroom. With a striking new look and a wealth of added features, Yamaha aims to redefine what riders can expect from a streetfighter in this segment.
A major upgrade includes a TFT instrument cluster, previously seen on the Yamaha R15. Yamaha’s Y-Connect mobile app unlocks features like turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity on this ridiculously advanced high-tech display setup. Users can track the last parking location via the app, monitor fuel efficiency, and receive malfunction alerts—making the ride smarter and more convenient.
The MT-15 retains its aggressive MT series DNA design-wise, featuring a sharp twin-pod headlamp, muscular fuel tank, and a somewhat compact silhouette overall. New colour choices like Ice Storm and Metallic Silver Cyan emerge in the 2025 model alongside shades including Metallic Black and Vivid Violet Metallic.
Mechanically, the bike remains largely unchanged at the front. It continues with the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivering 18 hp and 14 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Traction control is offered as a key safety enhancement, providing additional stability and control in challenging riding conditions.
The MT-15 V2.0 rivals the Honda CB Hornet 2.0 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V pretty closely in this rather crowded segment already.
