The India-made 2026 Kawasaki KLX230R S has arrived in the market at ₹1.94 lakh (ex-showroom), joining the 2025 CKD-imported variant in the brand’s portfolio. Known for its off-road prowess and easy handling, the new model retains its KX-inspired styling with minor ergonomic tweaks, including slightly forward-set handlebars.
Unlike the aluminium chassis of the imported variant, the locally manufactured version uses a high-tensile steel frame and swingarm, adding weight—now 129 kg, 14 kg more than the CKD model.
It is powered by a 233 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 19 hp at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm at 6,000 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Off-road readiness is enhanced by 37 mm telescopic front forks (220 mm travel), a link-type rear monoshock (223 mm travel), 270 mm ground clearance, and a 900 mm seat height. Braking is handled by 290 mm front and 230 mm rear discs, with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels shod with off-road tyres.
