At Community Day 2025, Ather Energy rolled out the EL01 concept—the first scooter built on its new Ather EL platform, the foundation for a future lineup of modular, scalable, and budget-friendly rides.
1. Faster Production, Easier Maintenance
Built with a single-piece steel frame, the Ather EL platform cuts assembly time by 15% and lets you go as far as 10,000 km before it needs servicing. Regular maintenance is easier now, and you can finish it in less time—sometimes just a quick check and a wipe.
2. One platform, many scooters
The EL system works with different types, including:
a) Maxi scooter: Runs farther on its 5 kWh battery—enough for a long, smooth ride across town.
b) Sporty urban scooter: Compact with 2 kWh battery—enough to zip across town without breaking a sweat.
c) Family scooter (EL01): Built with a wider seat and plush suspension that smooths out every bump in the road.
3. Smart AC/DC Charging
With the built-in Charge Drive Controller, there’s no need for heavy power bricks—it quietly converts AC to DC and back again, so riders just plug in a single cable.
4.Launch Timeline
Set for March 2026, the first EL scooter will hit showrooms alongside the trusted Ather 450 and Rizta models. Other versions might roll out in stages, one after another, like footsteps fading down a hallway.
5. Affordable Pricing
The EL01 targets under ₹1 lakh, and with Battery-as-a-Service, the price could drop to ₹50,000–60,000, making it highly accessible.
