Lava has rolled out the Lava Yuva Smart 2 in India, stepping in as the follow-up to the original Yuva Smart, with a starting price of ₹6,099. The new budget model now sports a sleek glass back instead of the old polycarbonate shell, and it is available in shimmering Crystal Blue or warm Crystal Gold.

The UNISOC 9863a octa-core chip powers it, backed by 3GB of RAM plus another 3GB of virtual memory, but you won’t get 5G—only the familiar 4G connectivity. The phone comes with a 6.75-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen that refreshes at a smooth 90Hz—up from the 60Hz panel on the Yuva 1—and carries a 5,000mAh battery you can top up with 10W charging through a USB Type-C port.

Photography is handled by a 13MP AI dual rear setup that brings modes like Night, HDR, and Time Lapse to the table, while a modest 5MP front camera takes care of selfies. The device runs Android 15 Go Edition, offering a clean, bloat-free setup that boots quickly, though Lava still hasn’t confirmed if it’ll get future OS updates. The company usually provides two years of security patches, yet the Yuva Smart 1 still hasn’t received a major update.

The Lava Yuva Smart 2 is available in just one option—3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage—and costs only ₹99 more than the previous model. Lava offers free service at home across India and support through its retail outlets, making the phone a smart pick for first-time buyers in the budget range—especially for someone who’d rather fix an issue from their kitchen table than visit a service center.
