Renault India is marking ten years of its popular entry-level hatchback with the launch of the Renault Kwid 10th Anniversary Edition, priced at ₹5.14 lakh for the manual and ₹5.63 lakh for the AMT, ex-showroom. Only 500 will be made, all built on the Techno variant, with two fresh dual-tone looks: Fiery Red topped with a black roof, or Shadow Grey with the same dark finish. Shiny black flex wheels catch the light, anniversary decals mark the occasion, and a bold yellow grille insert adds a sharp pop of color.
The cabin picks up anniversary touches—special seat patterns, flashes of yellow, a leatherette steering wheel stitched in bold contrast, and scuff plates that glow softly when you open the door. Renault has refreshed the whole Kwid lineup with new names: Evolution, once called RXL; Techno, previously RXT; and Climber, still rugged but now officially rebranded.
Every seat now has a 3-point seatbelt, and the Climber packs six airbags—ready to wrap you in a quiet cushion if things go wrong. The Kwid still runs on a 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine that delivers 69 bhp and 92.5 Nm, matched to either a 5-speed manual or an Easy-R AMT, and keeps its SUV-like stance with 184 mm of clearance that lets it ride confidently over speed bumps.
The refreshed Kwid lineup starts at ₹4.29 lakh, while AMT versions kick off at ₹4.99 lakh—still among the cheapest automatics in India, cheaper than a new scooter in some cities. Prices range from the base Authentic MT at ₹4.29 lakh to the top Climber AMT DT at ₹5.99 lakh, a jump that’s about the cost of a sturdy leather sofa.
Renault India MD Venkatram Mamillapalle says the Kwid has been central to the company’s story in India, built with over 95% locally sourced parts and reshaping the entry-level market through fresh ideas and easy access. Celebrating its 10th year, the Anniversary Edition boosts the Kwid’s charm with sharp new styling, sturdier safety features, and easy-to-use tech—standing out in the crowded entry-level market.
