JSW MG Motor India has launched the MG M9 all-electric luxury limousine under the new high-end sub-brand MG Select for Rs 69.90 lakh ex-showroom. Bookings are now open on MG Select’s website and in exclusive experience centres across 13 cities, with deliveries slotted from August 10, 2025. A booking token worth Rs 1 lakh is typically required initially. Battery and Performance of MG M9 At its core, the MG M9 houses a 90-kWh NMC battery that provides a certified 548 km range on a full charge, based on regulated test cycles — highlighting its efficiency and endurance. It cranks out 245 bhp and 350 Nm torque, with superfast charging support that boosts the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Each vehicle comes with an 11-kW wall box charger, and a rather compact 3.3-kW portable charger is supplied onboard. MG offers a lifetime warranty on the battery for the first owner and a 3-year warranty with unlimited kilometres on the car. Luxury and Design The M9’s interior embodies opulence utterly, and design seems almost an afterthought in this lavishly appointed, sumptuous space. The 16-way adjustable Presidential Seats come equipped with ventilation, heating, and eight massage modes, all accessible through a smart armrest interface. Cognac brown leather adorns the cabin interiors, lavishly enhanced by a premium sound system boasting 13 speakers and 64-colour ambient lighting, surrounding a dual yacht-style sunroof. A rather ample 1,720 litres of storage space exists, including a smallish 55-litre trunk situated at the front. Exterior design commands attention with a bold trapezoidal front grille and split LED headlights, alongside a waterfall-style LED rear light bar. Fitted with 19-inch ContiSeal self-sealing tyres, the M9 is available in Pearl Lustre White, Concrete Grey and Metal Black. Mercedes-Benz will bolster its high-performance lineup in India soon with the debut of the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupé on August 12, 2025. The CLE 53 Coupé made its global debut quite recently in December 2023 and now stands as the spiritual successor of the C-Class and E-Class coupés, somehow consolidating Mercedes’ two-door models into a single luxury grand tourer. Mercedes-Benz India plans eight fresh model introductions by 2025, and this launch constitutes a significant part of those new releases. The CLE 53 Coupé boasts sleek yet ferociously aggressive styling, utterly redolent of AMG’s hallowed performance pedigree. The CLE 53’s aerodynamic design features include sculpted bumpers and functional fender vents, paired with a performance-inspired rear diffuser and quad exhaust tips integrated beneath the signature Panamericana grille. The sporty look gets further amplified by LED headlights sporting distinctive DRLs and two-piece LED taillamps wrapped in piano black trim. With its steeply raked windshield and streamlined roofline, the coupé presents a sleeker profile than the CLE Cabriolet already available in the Indian market. It rides on standard 19-inch AMG alloy wheels, and 20-inch options are available as well. The CLE 53 boasts an AMG-tuned 3.0-litre inline-six twin-turbocharged engine (M256) under the hood, supported fairly extensively by a 48V mild-hybrid system. Delivering 446 bhp and 560 Nm of torque, this powertrain has an overboost function kicking in an extra 40 Nm for 12 seconds, thereby taking total torque up to 600 Nm. Power delivery is boosted by an integrated starter generator, which provides an extra 22.6 bhp and 205 Nm. The resulting 0–100 kmph sprint time clocks in at 4.2 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. The engine pairs with a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission and the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system, while AMG Dynamic Select offers various drive modes like Slippery, Comfort, Sport, and Individual, with paddle-shift use in manual “M” mode. Inside, the CLE 53 Coupé combines the modern, tech-rich layout of the C-Class with premium AMG-specific upgrades for a more opulent and performance-focused cabin. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits alongside an 11.9-inch MBUX infotainment screen positioned rather unusually in portrait orientation. AMG Performance seats and a flat-bottom steering wheel are outfitted inside, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Burmester sound system with 64-color ambient lighting and wireless charging available. Over-the-air software updates and AMG-themed visuals round out an immersive driving environment, with sport-focused controls and carbon-fiber-style trims inside. Carrying a premium price tag of over ₹1.5 crore (ex-showroom), the CLE 53 Coupé becomes the first AMG variant in the CLE series for India, complementing the CLE 300 Cabriolet. It will slug it out with the BMW M2 and Audi RS5 Sportback in the luxury performance segment, directly alongside other high-octane rivals. The car looks almost production-ready, but the final version will likely debut next year, with major changes possibly still underway.
