Ather 450S Now Available with 3.7 kWh Battery for ₹1.46 Lakh — Offers 161 km Range

Ather Energy has launched a new variant of the Ather 450S electric scooter in India, now sporting a fairly large 3.7 kWh battery pack. Ather’s entry-level scooter gets a new variant priced at a relatively high ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom), but it does offer a substantial range boost. The launch follows the debut of the Ather Rizta featuring the same battery capacity. The new variant pretty much bridges the gap between the 450S sporting a 2.9 kWh battery pack and the higher-end 450X model boasting a 3.7 kWh battery. The upgraded battery significantly boosts the IDC-certified range to 161 km versus the previous 115 km range of the 2.9 kWh version, notably. Performance figures remain largely unchanged anyway. A 5.4 kW motor still powers the electric scooter, remarkably producing 22 Nm of torque, enabling a 90 km/h top speed and achieving 0–40 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Riders have four riding modes available: Smart Eco mode, Eco, Ride, and Sport mode, essentially offering varying degrees of performance. The Ather 450S 3.7 kWh model comes with the Ather Eight70 warranty covering 8 years or 80,000 km, assuring at least 70 percent battery health throughout the warranty period. Bookings are currently available through Ather’s official website and retail outlets, with deliveries scheduled to start in August 2025. Despite the upgraded battery, the scooter maintains its original dimensions and sharp, sporty design, complete with 12-inch wheels. It still comes equipped with a 7-inch LCD screen offering turn-by-turn navigation and continues to support AtherStack’s OTA software updates efficiently. Scooter features include AutoHold and FallSafe, alongside Emergency Stop Signal with Alexa integration for enhanced safety measures, obviously. The home charger ramps the battery up pretty quickly from 0 to 80% in roughly four and a half hours.

BMW F 450 GS Patent Images Surface Ahead of India Launch

BMW Motorrad globally unveiled the BMW F 450 GS concept at EICMA 2024 in Italy and later made its Indian debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. The upcoming adventure bike has been spotted multiple times undergoing rigorous tests on dusty Indian roads lately under veiled secrecy. Leaked images of a near-production model have surfaced online, indicating that an official India launch might happen within the next few months. As part of BMW’s ongoing collaboration with TVS, the F 450 GS platform will be repurposed for use in future TVS offerings and high-performance Norton superbikes. The production model looks uncannily similar to the original concept in the rather grainy leaked images recently obtained by various online outlets. Key design elements such as the front beak and rear profile remain largely unchanged, with the muscular fuel tank still intact. The exposed subframes from the concept design have been stealthily replaced already. The design clearly draws inspiration from the larger BMW R 1300 GS, which was launched in India in January 2025. The F 450 GS leans heavily towards comfort, boasting an upright handlebar, split seat, and mid-set foot pegs with adjustable levers—prioritizing touring over hardcore off-roading. The ADV features a full LED lighting system, including the headlight, indicators, and tail-lamp, performing well under most operating conditions. A fairly large full-colour TFT display, possibly featuring Bluetooth support, will be controlled via a rotary dial. Safety features comprise switchable dual-channel ABS and traction control, alongside multiple ride modes with varying levels of stringency. Supporting the bike is a lightweight trellis frame with a bolt-on sub-frame, matched with upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock to ensure confident handling across varied terrain. It likely sits atop 19-inch alloy wheels up front and slightly smaller 17-inch ones at the rear, wrapped in tubeless tyres. Disc brakes handle braking duties at both ends effectively. The F 450 GS gets its muscle from a 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 48 bhp and 45 Nm, working in sync with a 6-speed gearbox for a balanced ride. The concept version weighed 175 kg, but the production model will likely tip the scales slightly heavier due to additional components. With the G 310 GS officially discontinued, BMW is bringing in the F 450 GS as its fresh entry-level ADV offering for the Indian market. It will compete with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX500, and CFMoto 450 MT upon its forthcoming launch.

2025 Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 Launched in India at ₹1.69 Lakh with New Features

India Yamaha Motor has launched the 2025 edition of the Yamaha MT-15 V2.0 in the country recently with quite a lot of fanfare. The streetfighter’s base variant now costs ₹1.69 lakh ex-showroom, and the top-end model is priced rather steeply at ₹1.80 lakh ex-showroom. With a striking new look and a wealth of added features, Yamaha aims to redefine what riders can expect from a streetfighter in this segment. A major upgrade includes a TFT instrument cluster, previously seen on the Yamaha R15. Yamaha’s Y-Connect mobile app unlocks features like turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity on this ridiculously advanced high-tech display setup. Users can track the last parking location via the app, monitor fuel efficiency, and receive malfunction alerts—making the ride smarter and more convenient. The MT-15 retains its aggressive MT series DNA design-wise, featuring a sharp twin-pod headlamp, muscular fuel tank, and a somewhat compact silhouette overall. New colour choices like Ice Storm and Metallic Silver Cyan emerge in the 2025 model alongside shades including Metallic Black and Vivid Violet Metallic. Mechanically, the bike remains largely unchanged at the front. It continues with the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivering 18 hp and 14 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Traction control is offered as a key safety enhancement, providing additional stability and control in challenging riding conditions. The MT-15 V2.0 rivals the Honda CB Hornet 2.0 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V pretty closely in this rather crowded segment already.

Volvo XC60 Facelift Hits Indian Market at ₹71.90 Lakh

Volvo Car India has launched the updated Volvo XC60 in the country at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹71.90 lakh. The facelift brings subtle revisions, but major upgrades lie largely in the technology offerings. The SUV remains powered by the same, somewhat dated petrol-hybrid powertrain, which still performs effectively under most driving conditions. On the outside, the XC60 retains its signature profile but gets a refreshed front grille with diagonal slats and a reworked front bumper, sporting new dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels. A fresh exterior shade dubbed “Forest Lake” now features among the available colour options alongside the existing palette. The cabin receives a major tech facelift, featuring an 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon platform. Premium Nappa leather seats with massage function occupy the front row, while a Bowers & Wilkins sound system resonates inside a cabin that also includes a panoramic sunroof. The updated XC60 is loaded with safety features, including seven airbags and Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, Pilot Assist, and blind spot monitoring. No changes exist under the hood. The SUV continues with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, producing 250 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The facelifted XC60 now costs ₹1.15 lakh more than its predecessor, offered in a single, fully-loaded Ultra variant at a rather hefty price. It rivals other swanky midsize SUVs such as the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.

BSA Rolls Out All-New Bantam 350 in the UK, Marking the Return of a Classic

BSA Motorcycles brings back the iconic Bantam moniker with the unveiling of the new Bantam 350 model recently in UK showrooms, quietly. While built on the same platform as the Jawa 42 FJ, this model stands out with its unique design. The Bantam 350 will likely roll out in various European markets soon, serving as the entry-level offering for the brand. The Bantam 350 features fairly refined bodywork and a somewhat streamlined design, clearly differing from the Jawa 42 FJ despite sharing an almost identical chassis setup. Design highlights include a classic round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a minimalist rear section with sleek lines. It runs on the familiar 334cc liquid-cooled Alpha 2 engine used extensively across the Jawa-Yezdi lineup, delivering roughly 29bhp and 29Nm of torque. A six-speed gearbox pairs nicely with this engine. The Bantam 350 is unlikely to launch in India, being targeted squarely at lucrative European markets and other global territories overseas instead. Classic Legends reportedly aims to preserve the BSA brand’s premium image quite zealously in the Indian market with considerable care. An official announcement is still keenly awaited and hangs in the balance. A nod to its heritage, the BSA Bantam was once a lightweight two-stroke legend produced between 1948 and 1971. Now, alongside the reborn Bantam 350, BSA has also taken the wraps off the Scrambler 650 in the UK, built on the robust Gold Star base. The Scrambler 650 is expected soon in India, unlike the Bantam.
