TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Debuts in India With 158 km Range, Price From ₹99,900

TVS Motor has rolled out its latest electric scooter in India, calling it the TVS Orbiter—a sleek ride that hums softly as it starts. Starting at Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom), it slots into the brand’s lineup beside the iQube yet undercuts it, making it the more budget-friendly choice. The Orbiter will go head-to-head with models like the Vida VX2, as well as the starter versions of the Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1. In terms of styling, the TVS Orbiter charts a new course, ditching the iQube’s boxy silhouette for something more refined. It’s got a sleek, pared-down style with crisp straight lines instead of curves, a smooth dual-tone finish, and six colors to choose from. The headlamp unit sits high, and the DRL tucks neatly into the front apron like a thin strip of light. This scooter’s built for comfort, with a flat seat that lets you settle in and ride easily. It clears the ground by 165 mm and rides on sturdy 14-inch wheels that grip the road. The Orbiter packs in 34 litres of storage under the seat, enough to tuck away a helmet or a small bag. As for features, the TVS Orbiter packs a multi-colour instrument cluster that displays all the key ride details, from speed to charge, in sharp, clear tones. It comes with modern features, from Bluetooth for quick pairing to turn-by-turn navigation that guides you at every turn, plus theft alerts and over-the-air updates. TVS has added a few segment-first features, such as cruise control, along with handy touches like reverse parking and automatic hill-hold that keeps you steady on a slope. With a claimed 158 km range on one charge, the Orbiter easily outpaces the base iQube, which manages 94 km using a 2.2 kWh battery.

Hero Xtreme 125R Single-Seat Variant Debuts in India at ₹1 Lakh

Hero MotoCorp has quietly refreshed its Xtreme 125R lineup in India by introducing the Hero Xtreme 125R single-seat variant. With an ex-showroom Delhi price of ₹1 lakh, this model slots neatly between the split-seat IBS at ₹98,425 and the split-seat ABS at ₹1.02 lakh. The single-seat model costs ₹2,000 less than the top-end split-seat ABS version—enough to cover a tank of fuel and a quick roadside tea. Other than the new seat, the bike still packs the same features and mechanics, right down to the familiar hum of its engine. The one-piece seat should make rides more comfortable for both the rider and the passenger, though it does give up a bit of the sharp, sporty look you get with a split seat. Beneath its bodywork, the Xtreme 125R still runs the same 124.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine found in the Hero Glamour X 125, a motor that hums with a steady, low thrum. The motor puts out 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, all running through a smooth five-speed gearbox. In India, the Hero Xtreme 125R goes head-to-head with bikes like the TVS Raider 125, the Honda CB 125 Hornet, and the Bajaj Pulsar N125, all jostling for attention on crowded city streets.
