Yamaha amps up the game with the launch of the FZ-X Hybrid in India, packing in hybrid power and a modern TFT screen with navigation features. Priced roughly at ₹1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the hybrid model sounds like quite an affordable option now.

Yamaha’s dealer network was presented with the bike earlier this year, and its launch seems strategically timed to tap into demand during the festive season. Incorporating hybrid tech boosts profit margins and adds heft to the brand’s value proposition significantly under various market conditions.

The upgrade centers around Yamaha’s Smart Motor Generator system, which integrates seamlessly to enhance fuel efficiency in a substantial way. A subtle torque boost is provided by this mild-hybrid setup during acceleration, and it enables features like silent engine start and idle start-stop functionality.

The updated FZ-X sports a new TFT screen supporting Bluetooth connectivity and navigation guidance alongside its hybrid system. The standard model remains on sale at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and continues without hybrid features, which are notably absent from its current configuration. The hybrid variant rolls out a fresh Matte Titan colour option, solidifying its top-tier status within the FZ-X lineup.
