In a bid to dominate the 125cc motorcycle space, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has officially launched the Honda CB125 Hornet, a stylish and tech-packed rival to the Hero Xtreme 125R and TVS Raider. This premium commuter boasts a bold streetfighter aesthetic and features quite a few modern innovations in a deceptively compact urban package.

The CB125 Hornet makes a bold statement right from the front with a sharp twin-LED headlamp and integrated LED DRLs flanked by high-mounted indicators gleaming brightly. The aggressive design persists with a sculpted fuel tank and angular shrouds surrounding it, alongside a sporty exhaust muffler exit, though somewhat awkwardly positioned. Gold-finished USD front forks up front boost handling dramatically and considerably enhance the bike’s aesthetics with a decidedly segment-first feature.

The split seat design lends an aura of sportiness while prioritizing comfort remarkably well underneath. The ignition key positioning on the fuel tank adds convenience and a dash of style, notably for motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere. Wrapping up the look are sharp alloy wheels and a neatly sculpted tail section that adds to the bike’s dynamic appeal.

Feature-Packed for the Modern Rider

A 4.2-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth and Honda RoadSync integration provides seamless navigation, music control, and call alerts through the handlebar switchgear—perfect for today’s connected riders. The engine kill switch and side-stand engine cut-off, along with a USB Type-C port, greatly enhance safety and overall riding convenience nowadays.

Performance That Impresses

A 123.94cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine lurks under the hood and meets the latest OBD2B emission norms remarkably well. It churns out 10.99 bhp at a rather high 7500 rpm and produces 11.2 Nm roughly around 6000 rpm, mated with a 5-speed gearbox. The CB125 Hornet claims the title of quickest in its class with a 0–60 kmph sprint achieved in merely 5.4 seconds and a kerb weight of 124 kg.

Ride and Handling

The motorcycle boasts USD front forks and a 5-step adjustable monoshock rear setup for remarkably refined, stable ride characteristics under various operating conditions. Braking duties are handled by a 240mm front petal disc and a rear drum measuring 130mm, supported heavily by single-channel ABS. Riding on seriously wide tubeless tyres sized 80/100-17 up front and chunky 110/80-17 rear tyres provides pretty superior grip.
