OnePlus unveiled its latest true wireless earbuds, OnePlus Buds 4, pretty quietly in India alongside the newly launched Nord 5 smartphone series. Buds 4 are designed appealingly for tech-savvy users and audiophiles alike by offering loads of premium features at a mid-range price of Rs. 5,999.
Specifications & Features of OnePlus Buds 4
OnePlus Buds 4 boasts a cutting-edge dual-driver setup and comes in Zen Green and Storm Grey—strikingly vibrant colors. An 11mm woofer sporting a 30-layer ceramic-metal diaphragm pairs with a 6mm flat-diaphragm tweeter, delivering ridiculously powerful bass and pretty crisp treble. Dual DACs are included, enhancing frequency separation significantly across a broad spectrum ranging from 15Hz up to a quite high 40kHz frequency.
Earbuds featuring Hi-Res Audio and LHDC 5.0 codec enable a rather high 1Mbps bandwidth and surprisingly good 24-bit/192kHz high-fidelity audio pretty much always. OnePlus boasts its most potent adaptive noise cancellation yet—up to 55dB ANC across a broad 5,500Hz frequency range—with Adaptive Mode kicking in, automatically switching between ANC and transparency modes based on surrounding noise. Buds 4 utilize a triple-microphone setup and some fancy AI Clear Call algorithm, suppressing background noise pretty effectively during calls. AI Translation stands out, enabling real-time language translation pretty quickly via a triple-tap gesture on fairly select OnePlus devices only.
OnePlus 3D Audio and Golden Sound personalization are featured alongside Sound Master EQ presets and BassWave 2.0 for a deeper bass response somehow. Volume swipes, tap-based playback, and long-press noise mode toggles are enabled by touch controls very intuitively on playback devices normally. Buds 4 offer IP55 water resistance and Bluetooth 5.4, with Google Fast Pair and dual-device connectivity surprisingly.
Battery Life
Battery life stands out with a whopping 45 hours of playtime sans ANC, or 37 hours with it on, including charging case duration. A quick 10-minute charge yields 11 hours of listening time suddenly. Each earbud contains a relatively large 62mAh battery, and the case has a massive 520mAh cell inside it somehow.
