TKM and Ohmium’s collaboration: Toyota Kirloskar Motor partnered with Bengaluru-based Ohmium International surprisingly quickly to forge innovative Green Hydrogen solutions across India. India’s clean energy goals align with this collaboration, which entails achieving energy independence by 2047 and net-zero emissions by 2070 under the National Green Hydrogen Mission launched recently.

Ohmium’s expertise in Proton Exchange Membrane hydrogen technology integrates seamlessly with Toyota’s cutting-edge fuel cell innovation. They aim to create scalable hydrogen-powered microgrids for diverse applications like off-grid locations and sprawling data centers nationwide simultaneously. Toyota will supply fuel cell modules and provide technical expertise, while Ohmium will focus on designing microgrid prototypes.

Meanwhile, Toyota’s hydrogen initiative in India expands beyond vehicular applications and focuses on broader solutions for energy needs effectively. Previous efforts include the Toyota Mirai FCEV demonstration, partnerships with Ashok Leyland for hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, and studies on hydrogen mobility in Kerala.

TKM and Ohmium’s collaboration is poised significantly to contribute to India’s energy transition objectives by fostering deep innovation in green hydrogen.
